i did recall
waiting after dark in someones exit line
teasing out the feeling youre just twisting on the vine
holding out for something down the line
did my hands
waver as they indicate those big ideas
punctures such a hole inside that feeling i was right
feeling i was saying something real
digging in my pockets, holding up the traffic
and im clogging up the air
voice comes round the corner asking "dont you have a care
dont you see the writing on the wall"
this one's in a tailspin
that one pulls a picture of a dying family tree
asks for my opinion i just stare at the TV
no ones getting answers out of me
